Rodent Control in Mount Pleasant, SC

Mount Pleasant is two building stocks in one town, and they fail in completely different ways: the older Old Village houses and decades of newer subdivision construction.

Around Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant sits on the east side of Charleston Harbor and the Wando River, across the Cooper River from the city, and the Arthur Ravenel Bridge, eight lanes of U.S. 17 finished in 2005, links the two. For years the town was largely seasonal, summer homes for Charleston families who crossed the river hoping to escape the summer fevers, and its population was centered in the Old Village. The town limits have since pushed 24 miles northeast along U.S. 17, nearly to Awendaw.

Patriots Point, at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge on Patriots Point Rd, is home to the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens is on Long Point Rd, Mount Pleasant Towne Centre on Belk Dr, and the Mt. Pleasant Library on Mathis Ferry Rd. The county runs Palmetto Islands County Park, Laurel Hill County Park and the Mount Pleasant Pier, and Hobcaw, between Shem Creek and the Wando River, was a shipbuilding plantation in colonial days.

What makes Mount Pleasant different

The older houses near the water sit on raised crawl spaces, often with original framing and a long history of damp underneath. The newer subdivisions further out are built on slab or on shallow crawl spaces, and the problems there tend to be ductwork sweating, insulation falling out of the floor system, and moisture getting in where the build was fast. Both sides of town back onto marsh or tidal creek somewhere, which keeps ground moisture high and gives rodents cover right up to the foundation line.

Fantastic service! I noticed some signs of rodents in my attic and was really concerned. These guys came out quickly and were very thorough in their inspection. They set traps, sealed up potential entry points, and gave me advice on how to prevent future issues. Their team was knowledgeable, friendly, and truly cared about resolving my issue. I'm finally rodent-free thanks to their amazing service. Definitely five stars!

Being near the water in Isle of Palms, we've had rats try to move into our crawl space every year. Normally we just throw down traps, but this time it got worse. We could hear them at night and started finding insulation in our air vents. I found Twin Home Experts through a Facebook group and decided to call. Justin came out and was super professional. He did a full walkthrough and told us what he'd recommend. The whole process was smooth and way more thorough than anything we'd had done before. No more scratching, no more droppings. And they cleaned up after themselves too, which I really appreciated.

We, too, live in a Charleston downtown home that is subject to periodic rodent visits. We contacted this business based on its prior reviews and we were not disappointed. Colton K., an owner of this business, was professional, punctual, thorough and a pleasure to work with. They cleared debris from my crawl space, then sealed it, checked for rodent entry paths and implemented traps with video monitoring. So far, so good! This is a fine young man who has a bright future in Charleston. Hire his team!

We only stay at our Kiawah house a few times a year, so when we came back after a few months and saw signs of rats in the kitchen, we were pretty shocked. They'd gotten into a few cabinets and chewed through some of the pantry items. We called out the twins and had them check everything out. Colton and Jim were awesome. They found where the rats had gotten in through the lattice in our deck and sealed everything up tight. They also set traps and came back to make sure everything was clear before we left. It was such a relief to know the house was secure again.

I recently had the pleasure of using Twin Home Experts after discovering them through a Google search, and I must say, they lived up to their great reviews. I was pleasantly surprised when they were able to schedule a visit for the very next day to investigate the noise I was hearing in the gutters of my three-level home. During the thorough examination of my property, the technician Colton discovered some gaps in the gutter guard that could allow something to get in. He was diligent in his inspection, even going up into the attic to ensure that nothing had made its way inside. Thankfully, he confirmed that nothing had entered my home, and his recommendation was to repair the gutter guard. I would happily recommend them to my family and friends!

After moving into my historic house in Charleston, I discovered signs of rodents in the attic. Twin Home Experts were prompt, professional, and so knowledgeable about how to handle older homes. They removed the infestation, replaced the damaged insulation, and left everything spotless. It's rare to find a company that truly takes pride in their work - these guys do.

Living near the beach out in Folly, we get a fair amount of critters, but when rats made their way into our attic, we knew we needed help. It was starting to smell, and we didn't want it to turn into a bigger issue. Twin Home Experts came out fast, and they were great from the start. Kameron was super knowledgeable and showed us pictures and videos of everything he found. The guys that came out closed up where they were getting in and removed the ones that were caught quick before they started to smell. 100% recommend this company to anyone with a rat problem!

I'm a homeowner in Mount Pleasant and had a pretty serious rodent issue last fall. We thought we had sealed up all the entry points ourselves, but the scratching kept coming back, mostly at night in the ceiling above our bedroom. After a few sleepless weeks, we called Twin Home Experts. What I appreciated was that they didn't come in trying to sell us on a million things. They simply did a detailed inspection, explained what was really happening, and got to work. They stopped by today to check in because they were in the area and it's been months since we've had any issues. That just shows how thorough these guys are.
