Rodent Control in Isle of Palms, SC
Elevated beach housing with a lot of seasonal occupancy, which is a combination that lets a small problem run for months before anyone notices it.
Around Isle of Palms
Isle of Palms is a barrier island, a narrow strip hugging the beach with the Intracoastal Waterway between it and the mainland. It was Hunting Island, or Long Island, until J.S. Lawrence bought it in 1899 and gave it the name it has now. A hotel went up in 1906, a pavilion and amusement park in 1912, and a trolley line ran out from Mount Pleasant by way of Sullivan’s Island. The Confederate submarine H.L. Hunley set out from Breach Inlet, between this island and Sullivan’s.
Large-scale residential development began when J.C. Long bought most of the island and built low-cost housing for World War II veterans, and Wild Dunes, at the northeastern end, followed in 1975. Isle of Palms County Park is at 14th Ave, the Recreation Center on 28th Ave, and City Hall on Palm Blvd. Harbor Golf Course is on Palmetto Dr and Links Golf Course on Back Bay Dr.
What makes Isle of Palms different
Like the other barrier islands, the houses are up on pilings and the floor system is exposed, so insulation and ducting under the house take the brunt of the humidity and the salt. The seasonal side is what makes this island different to work in: a house empty from autumn through spring is a house where nobody hears the first rodents move in, nobody notices the ductwork sweating, and nobody finds the mold until it has had a whole wet season to establish. We find more of that here than anywhere else nearby, and it is usually why the job is bigger than the owner expected.
How we work in Isle of Palms
The same five steps everywhere: a free phone estimate, finding exactly how they are getting in, sealing those openings in steel and mortar, trapping and monitoring what is left inside, then cleaning and sanitizing. No poison and no recurring contract. The exclusion work is a one-time repair backed by our guarantee.

Fantastic service! I noticed some signs of rodents in my attic and was really concerned. These guys came out quickly and were very thorough in their inspection. They set traps, sealed up potential entry points, and gave me advice on how to prevent future issues. Their team was knowledgeable, friendly, and truly cared about resolving my issue. I'm finally rodent-free thanks to their amazing service. Definitely five stars!
Being near the water in Isle of Palms, we've had rats try to move into our crawl space every year. Normally we just throw down traps, but this time it got worse. We could hear them at night and started finding insulation in our air vents. I found Twin Home Experts through a Facebook group and decided to call. Justin came out and was super professional. He did a full walkthrough and told us what he'd recommend. The whole process was smooth and way more thorough than anything we'd had done before. No more scratching, no more droppings. And they cleaned up after themselves too, which I really appreciated.
We, too, live in a Charleston downtown home that is subject to periodic rodent visits. We contacted this business based on its prior reviews and we were not disappointed. Colton K., an owner of this business, was professional, punctual, thorough and a pleasure to work with. They cleared debris from my crawl space, then sealed it, checked for rodent entry paths and implemented traps with video monitoring. So far, so good! This is a fine young man who has a bright future in Charleston. Hire his team!
We only stay at our Kiawah house a few times a year, so when we came back after a few months and saw signs of rats in the kitchen, we were pretty shocked. They'd gotten into a few cabinets and chewed through some of the pantry items. We called out the twins and had them check everything out. Colton and Jim were awesome. They found where the rats had gotten in through the lattice in our deck and sealed everything up tight. They also set traps and came back to make sure everything was clear before we left. It was such a relief to know the house was secure again.
I recently had the pleasure of using Twin Home Experts after discovering them through a Google search, and I must say, they lived up to their great reviews. I was pleasantly surprised when they were able to schedule a visit for the very next day to investigate the noise I was hearing in the gutters of my three-level home. During the thorough examination of my property, the technician Colton discovered some gaps in the gutter guard that could allow something to get in. He was diligent in his inspection, even going up into the attic to ensure that nothing had made its way inside. Thankfully, he confirmed that nothing had entered my home, and his recommendation was to repair the gutter guard. I would happily recommend them to my family and friends!
After moving into my historic house in Charleston, I discovered signs of rodents in the attic. Twin Home Experts were prompt, professional, and so knowledgeable about how to handle older homes. They removed the infestation, replaced the damaged insulation, and left everything spotless. It's rare to find a company that truly takes pride in their work - these guys do.
Living near the beach out in Folly, we get a fair amount of critters, but when rats made their way into our attic, we knew we needed help. It was starting to smell, and we didn't want it to turn into a bigger issue. Twin Home Experts came out fast, and they were great from the start. Kameron was super knowledgeable and showed us pictures and videos of everything he found. The guys that came out closed up where they were getting in and removed the ones that were caught quick before they started to smell. 100% recommend this company to anyone with a rat problem!
I'm a homeowner in Mount Pleasant and had a pretty serious rodent issue last fall. We thought we had sealed up all the entry points ourselves, but the scratching kept coming back, mostly at night in the ceiling above our bedroom. After a few sleepless weeks, we called Twin Home Experts. What I appreciated was that they didn't come in trying to sell us on a million things. They simply did a detailed inspection, explained what was really happening, and got to work. They stopped by today to check in because they were in the area and it's been months since we've had any issues. That just shows how thorough these guys are.
