Citrus Heights Rodent Control
Citrus Heights is an established suburb: ranch homes from the sixties and seventies, big mature trees, and a lot of fruit in the backyards.
Around Citrus Heights
Citrus Heights was called Sylvan until 1910, when a real estate agent bought the area, split it into ten-acre lots and gave it the name it has now. Voters approved cityhood in November 1996, and in January 1997 it became the fifth city in Sacramento County. The geographical center of the city is at Sylvan Corners, and Interstate 80 passes through its west side.
Sunrise Mall and Sunrise Village are both on Sunrise Blvd, the Marketplace at Birdcage is on Birdcage Centre Ln and Citrus Town Center is on Greenback Ln. Rusch Community Park and the Sylvan Oaks Library are on Auburn Blvd, C-Bar-C Park is on Oak Ave and Tempo Park on Fair Oaks Blvd. Arcade Creek Park Preserve is on Bonham Cir, and City Hall on Fountain Square Dr.
Ranch homes under mature trees
That combination is roof rat habitat. Mature trees run straight onto the roof, citrus and backyard fruit are a food source that lasts much of the year, and dense ivy or shrubs along a fence are cover and a travel route in one. Most of the housing here is single-story on slabs or low crawl spaces, with attics that have not been opened in years and vent screens as old as the home itself. Fifty years of re-roofing, added air conditioning and satellite and cable runs have each left a penetration somewhere, and on a Citrus Heights property we find them at the roofline far more often than at ground level.
Why a local pest control visit leaves rats in the attic
Plenty of homes in Citrus Heights already have a residential pest control service on the calendar, and for ants, spiders and other bugs that is the right call. Rats and mice get a different treatment on that kind of plan: a few bait stations along the outside wall, refilled each visit. That is pest management. It thins out the rodents around the home, but the opening they use to get into the attic stays exactly where it was.
On ranch houses like the ones here, that opening is usually at the roofline: a limb over the eaves, a vent screen that has been in place since the house was built, or a gap left around a line from a re-roof or an air conditioning job. A roof rat living in the attic never has to pass an outdoor bait box, which is why the pest control visits keep coming and so do the rats.
Our rodent control services do what that visit cannot. We find every entry point on the home, roofline, foundation and plumbing included, because a broken drain or sewer line lets rats in where no bait will reach them. Sealing entry points comes first, with lifetime-warranted exclusion materials rather than foam or steel wool; then we trap and watch with monitoring cameras until the activity stops. No poison, and nothing but rats and mice.
The two do different jobs. A general pest control company sells pest prevention on a schedule, spraying for ants, spiders and stinging pests, and many also take on wildlife or termites. Those pests are outside our services. Our rodent control work has an end point: once every opening is closed and the cameras show nothing moving, the job is done and the home stays sealed.
Our process is a repair, not pest prevention
The same five steps everywhere: a free phone estimate, finding exactly how they are getting in, sealing those openings in steel and mortar, trapping and monitoring what is left inside, then cleaning and sanitizing. No poison and no recurring contract. The exclusion work is a one-time repair backed by our guarantee.
Our Carmichael office at 6839 Hillside Dr puts Citrus Heights a short run away. We also work Roseville and Folsom and Sacramento, and the wider Carmichael area.

FAQ
Questions homeowners ask first
Is there a charge to come out to my street?
No. Citrus Heights is inside our normal Sacramento service area, a short drive from our Carmichael office, and the phone estimate is free here like anywhere else.
How soon can someone get to my home?
Citrus Heights is covered by our Sacramento team, out of the office on Hillside Dr in Carmichael. For a specific appointment window, call and ask - we would rather give you a real time than a slogan.
Is this a monthly plan like my pest control company?
No. A pest control plan is a treatment that returns every month or every quarter. Rodent control from us is a one-time repair on the property: we seal it, trap what is inside and clean up, and the exclusion work carries a lifetime warranty.
Will you handle my other pest problems?
No, only rats and mice. If your other pest problems are ants, spiders or wasps, a general pest service is the better fit, and your local pest control company can keep coming alongside our work without getting in its way.
